About us... What is now D-R Services had its roots in the 1950's as part of the adult training workshop that began with the Dale-Roy School. From Simple crafts and activities in the early years, the sheltered workshop expanded its role over the years to include performing labor-intensive operations for local industry. Today D-R Services contracts with many industries to complete jobs that require packaging, assembly, sorting and a variety of other valuable services. D-R Services has also grown to be a leading supplier of document destruction services for the region. D-R Services is a 501c-3 federal non-profit organization that provides employment, job and life-skill training to enhance the quality of life for adults with Developmental Disabilities who reside in Ashland County.
Mission Statement: The mission of D-R Services, Inc. is to offer affordable, dependable SERVICE to the community, while at the same time providing SERVICE to our individuals and their families by Creating Opportunities and Achieving Possibilities Together, thus providing them with the opportunity to live a full and satisfying life in the community. Business Services:The D-R Services Production Department provides employment and work skills training by performing labor-intensive operations for local manufacturers and businesses. D-R Services holds a special wage certificate from the U.S. Department of Labor that allows it to pay sub minimum wages by means of a piece rate based on prevailing area wages. Disabled adults are offered meaningful employment opportunities typically unavailable to them in the community work environment.
